Calling All Servants!
For too long the standard for most churches and ministries has been the 80/20 or even the 90/10 rule in that 10-20% of the people do 80-90% of the work. This statistic, although shocking, hasn’t changed in hundreds of years. How can the church be “added to daily” (Acts 2:47) and grow with this type of model? The short answer is that…it can’t!
“and whoever wants to be first among you must become your servant. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others…”
In God’s Kingdom there are no sideline positions. In the Body of Christ every organ and part is vital to overall health and growth. We can’t all be the same part of the body but we all are necessary to serve in the capacity that God has gifted each and every one of us. The Bible puts it this way… when one part of the body rejoices we all rejoice but if one part of the body hurts then we all hurt (1 Corinth. 12:26). At Path Light Community Fellowship we want you to be involved and to discover and grow in the giftings and abilities that you have been blessed with in order to benefit the Body of Christ at large. The time of sitting on the sidelines cheering your teammates on not running along side of them is over! Let’s be honest. If you said you were going to the gym 3 days a week I would assume you were working out and getting stronger. But if you went 3 days a week and sat on a bench and watched others workout and you didn’t get on a treadmill or workout machine at all then yes you are there but you are not working out and people would be able to tell outside of the gym as well. They don’t see results. They don’t see the fruit of working out. Being a part of a church is no different. We need to workout in praise in worship, the word, and actively using our gifts otherwise we are just watching others use the machines and saying we are going to “church.” But the world needs to see our fruit. They need to experience the difference in you by seeing what it means to give it everything you got!
